Primary 1a Wallacewell Primary

Primary 1a Weekly Update

Primary 1 have continued their exciting journey through prehistoric times this week! The classroom has been transformed into a world of dinosaurs as the children created fantastic dioramas depicting prehistoric landscapes. Their scenes were filled with incredible dinosaurs such as Tyrannosaurus Rex, Stegosaurus and Iguanodon. The creativity, detail and effort put into each project has been wonderful to see.

In Maths, we have begun exploring measurement using cubes as non-standard units. The children searched around the classroom to find objects of different sizes and carefully measured them using cubes. They compared their findings and discussed which items were longer, shorter, taller or smaller. It was a hands-on and engaging way to develop early measuring skills.

The highlight of the week was our imaginative writing activity. Each child wrote a letter to a dinosaur, asking an interesting question about its life. The excitement was unforgettable when the children received replies from the dinosaurs! They were surprised and delighted to read the answers, learning fascinating facts and imagining what life might have been like in prehistoric times.

Primary 1 have worked extremely hard this term and should be very proud of all they have achieved. We are now ready to enjoy a well-earned mid-term break.

Have a lovely holiday weekend!
