What an exciting time we’ve had in class! With panto season in full swing, we’ve not only been busy rehearsing for our very own nativity performance, but we also had the wonderful opportunity to watch The Little Mermaid at the King’s Theatre. The children were completely captivated—singing along, clapping, cheering, and soaking up every moment. The adventure was made even more special by travelling there on a bus with friends, which sparked just as much joy and chatter!
Our week of learning didn’t stop there. We welcomed Catriona from PATHS, who delivered a fantastic lesson to support our calming strategy, “Doing the Turtle.” The children are becoming very confident in recognising when they need to pause, take a breath, and make calm choices—an important life skill we’re proud to see growing.
We were also delighted to have Miss Davidson join us in class. Together, we explored creative ways to tell our topic story The Jolly Postman, and the children impressed us with their storytelling talents and imagination.
In literacy, we continue to practise our sounds and common words, which are the building blocks of reading. Your support at home makes a huge difference, so thank you—please keep encouraging your child to read, spell, and use their words with confidence.
Finally, keep an eye out for upcoming requests for costume items for the nativity. The excitement is building, and we can’t wait to share our festive performance with you soon!
