Weekly Blog – End of Term 1 🌟

This week has been full of creativity, imagination, and learning!

In Maths, we continued exploring 2D and 3D shapes, building on our understanding through hands-on activities and discussions. The children have been fantastic at spotting shapes all around them and describing their properties with growing confidence.

In Literacy, we listened to the story ‘The Wishing Star’ and thought carefully about what we would wish for if we had one magical wish. The children’s ideas were thoughtful, imaginative, and full of kindness.

We also enjoyed an autumn-themed activity — listening to and colouring a cheerful scarecrow, followed by the story ‘The Scarecrow’s Wedding’. The children loved predicting what might happen next and sharing their ideas before and during the story. Their engagement and curiosity made for some wonderful discussions!

Later in the week, we read ‘Beautiful Oops’, which helped us learn that mistakes can lead to beautiful new ideas. We practised this by creating our own imaginative drawings starting from just a simple line — and the results were amazing!

As Term 1 comes to a close, we’re so proud of how well the children have settled into school life. They’ve shown enthusiasm, resilience, and a real love of learning.

Have a fantastic holiday, everyone — take time to rest, relax, and recharge your batteries ready for Term 2! 🍂✨
