FARE Family Liaison Worker

Dawn Cook is our FARE Family Liaison Worker. Her role is to support young people and families in a variety of ways including:

Running our Magic Breakfast club each morning between 8.15am and 8.45am to provide free breakfast to all young people, ensuring young people enjoy a relaxed start to the morning, a chance to catch up with friends in a safe space and are fuelled up for the day ahead.

1-1 support and small group work with young people to explore a range of relevant issues such as friendship, positive wellbeing, dealing with difference and working as part of a team.

Supporting transitions from primary to secondary and from school to college/work placement so young people feel confident, prepared and supported throughout the transition process.

Supporting young people and families with filling in medical/financial/housing forms such as Free School Meals, Clothing Grants and free bus pass.

Supporting young people and families to understand some of the reasons that could be a contributing factor to low attendance at school and finding support mechanisms to ensure that our young people are receiving their education in a way which benefits both themselves and adheres to educational guidelines.
