Hello everyone,
We’ve had a very busy week last week!
In our writing, we wrote a recount of a bad cinema experience and we all remembered to use the 5 W’s in our introductions and we successfully set the scene! They were fantastic to read about lots of different bad experiences!
In reading, we located tricky words from our book and used clues to figure out the meanings. We also created different questions for a partner – these were a mix of literal, evaluative and inferential questions.
In maths, we used think boards to practice using a variety of strategies to solve subtraction calculations. We worked with a partner practising 4 different strategies and we discussed which ones we preferred and why. This was done with 4 digit numbers and we were also able to use the concrete materials to help us.
For our topic for the 50th, we began looking at music from the last 50 years. We all had the chance to look at different music genres including jazz, rock and pop.
We also had the opportunity to watch the nativity, as a class we were a great audience and showed the infants lots of support!
On Tuesday afternoon, we were so lucky to be invited to the Tramway to watch Little Red Riding Hood. It was lots of fun!
