Story Writing

We have been learning how to describe a setting for a story this term. We know we can include information about what might be seen, heard, smelled, tasted or felt. We have written 2 stories this term as a whole class and this week we started a new project, working in pairs. Our story is going to be about Thor, who is has been caught by the baddies and is being made to battle with Hulk. We have to try and write good sentences that might help describe the setting, while telling our story. We will use VCOP to make our sentences as good as possible. Ask you child what VCO&P stand for. If they’ve been listening, they should be able to tell you! It will take us a few sessions to finish this story because there are lots of steps to building a good story.

We had really good fun today, getting started and sharing ideas with our partners. We are improving so much in working together by listening well and respecting each other. Wilf was loving his story so much, he was jumping up and down in his chair so we had to bring the camera out and take photos!
