Leadership (Rights Respecting Schools Ambassadors)

This course fosters the development of leadership skills in advocating for children’s rights. Students will explore the principles of advocacy, communication, and teamwork to empower them to be effective champions for the rights and well-being of children. Through interactive learning, real-world examples, and collaborative projects, participants will gain the knowledge and confidence needed to actively promote and protect children’s rights within their communities and beyond.

Pupils will cultivate leadership skills in championing children’s rights within the framework of Rights Respecting Schools. Examples of what it will involve will include:

  • Events for S1
  • Learning events within our primaries
  • Promoting equality, inclusion and the rights of the child
  • Celebrating difference and supporting younger pupils
  • Community events to develop the Rights of the Child

Learners will work towards level 6 Leadership Award though two units:

  • Investigating leadership
  • Developing leadership
