At Knightswood Primary School, we use a range of strategies and approaches within Numeracy and Mathematics to provide learners with stimulating and dynamic learning experiences.
The mathematics experiences and outcomes are structured within three main organisers:
- number, money and measurement
- information handling
- shape, position and movement, and
includes, problem solving & enquiry and mental agility
To meet the needs of all learners, a key resource used is Glasgow Counts.
Glasgow Counts uses the CPA (Concrete, Pictorial and Abstract) approach to develop conceptual understanding. It helps develop problem solving, reasoning and fluency. It helps to create mathematical mind-sets and mastery of learning.
See our Glasgow Counts page for more information and useful resources.
