Meeting Additional Support Needs

The Education (Additional Support for Learning) Act 2004, often referred to as the ASL Act, introduces a new legal framework for supporting children and young people who require some additional support with their learning in nurseries and schools.

The Act places a duty on Education Services to ensure that all children and young people are provided with the support they require to help them to work towards achieving their potential and benefit from school (including pre school) education.
