Day 3

Hi everyone!

Hope you are all keeping well and safe!

Here are some websites which you can use to keep your language learning up.
My personal favourites are:

Duo Lingo- a great starting point and a good way to revise some vocabulary that you have already learned in school.
Lightbulb Languages is a fantastic resource with lots of games, videos and online activities for you to try.
Go Gaelic is a fantastic website with lots of resources and is what I used in class with you all.

Home

Perhaps you can use what you have already learned and teach someone at home? (parent, brother/sister/friend).

Tomorrow I will share with you some online educational activities that you can do/watch to keep your brains ticking!

Speak tomorrow!

Day 3 – 25th March 2020

Good Morning P7s!

I miss your smiling faces and wish that we were heading out to breaktime right now after playing some baseball in the pitch.

I hope you got up and did the Joe Wicks workout on youtube – Its a tough workout! It definitely is making me sweat and helping me to wake up in the mornings!

Here are some ideas for things to do today:

  1. Keep Practice on sumdog!
  2. Go on Hit the Button and beat my score of 38 on the division facts up to 12 (hit the answer – mixed)!
  3. Try to do some writing every day. There are lots of places to help inspire you
    • Try a Would you Rather question by clicking on this link here.
    • This website, Pobble365, gives you a different prompt every day! Try to finish the story!
    • Remember, think about what you need to work on and remember our No Excuses!
  4. Draw a rainbow and put it up in your window to brighten up your neighbourhood!

Remember to comment below!

Lots of love,

Mrs Lamb 🙂

Day 2

Good afternoon Primary 7C, I hope you are all well and keeping yourself safe!

In these strange times I have found that getting up, dressed and doing some exercise is keeping me going and making it much easier to maintain as much routine as possible.

There are lots of things to keep you going during these times:

  1. The work from your pack – why not pick 1 thing to complete a day?
  2. Joe Wicks posts a daily workout at 9am every morning but can be accessed at any point during the day from his YouTube channel. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCAxW1XT0iEJo0TYlRfn6rYQ
  3. Why not try to learn some sign language – we have done a little bit of this in class but there are so many resources online for you to use. https://kidcourses.com/sign-language-asl/
  4. Practise your timetables by using Hit The Button – you know what ones you need to work on!

Try to keep yourself occupied by doing at least 1 thing every day.

I will be checking this daily and adding new things when I can. Why not upload pictures of anything new you have done?!

Speak soon and keep yourself and your families safe!

Home Learning – Playdough Activity

Good afternoon!

I hope everyone is taking care of themselves and helping out at home. For any parents interested in more practical activities to help encourage learning I will post one or two activities per week which take minimal effort and hopefully only a few resources.

I have written down a playdough recipe with some instructions. Measurements are loose and can be altered to let children experiment with different consistencies of dough. No cooking is required so older siblings can also carry out this activity with younger brothers and sisters.

You can find some follow up exercises by searching ‘Dough Disco’ On YouTube to help strengthen fine motor skills for writing, or children can be creative.

Have fun, and remember to keep washing your hands!

Good Morning P7 – 23rd March 2020

Good Morning P7s!

I hope you had a lovely weekend and are all feeling well. As promised, here are some suggestions for things you could do today. Comment in the notes below!

  1.  Create a ‘wish-list’ with your family. What are some things you could learn to do or have always wanted to know how to do?
  2.  Answer this “Would you rather?” question: Would you speak every language or play every instrument?
  3. Go on sumdog and practise your Maths skills. (Want an extra challenge? Go onto Hit the Button and beat my division facts score of 35! Post a snapshot of your winning score!)
  4. Go onto youtube and try a “How to draw” class! I’m going to be challenging myself from the 1st April to draw a face every day, why not join me?
  5. Remember to get some exercise – youtube has lots of different things you could do!

I hope your first day at home is fun and calm! Remember that all will be well!

World Book Day Early Celebrations!

Today in P2b we kicked off World Book Day celebrations early with a very exciting trip to the library!

We asked the staff some really fantastic questions about getting our own library card and had a chance to hear a story before exploring all the wonderful books the library has to offer.

We then took out some books that can help us learn more about our current topic – Dinosaurs. We got some fiction and non-fiction books to help us get ready for our big trip to the National Museum of Scotland on Friday.

We brought the books  back to class where we enjoyed some paired reading. It was a really great day and we can’t wait to go back again!

You can find out more about joining the library and other community events at Govanhill Library. Forms can also be found in the Reception area in school.
