We enjoyed working with our friends to design and create wooden models. We made see-saws, racing tracks, obstacle courses, castles…. and lots more! At the end, we all joined in to build a P1a House 😃 Team work makes the dream work ⭐️

Children in P1a worked collaboratively to solve challenging calculations and word problems. They used their excellent knowledge of number bonds to answer these questions mentally! Absolutely outstanding 👏🏼

Do you have a hidden talent? A wonderful voice? Can tell cracking jokes or perhaps you can do the best Floss in the school! If so…. then why not take part in the school talent show! Auditions will be held in class before the final on Friday 15th June so if you would like to take part, just let your teacher know. You can do it on your own or with a friend.

P1a had amazing fun at Sports Day. We played cricket, bowling and games with Jeely Piece. While we had some time in the classroom, we watched previous Olympic Games videos and discussed the speed of Usain Bolt. We all tried to be as fast as Bolt in our running races at Holyrood!
We did a vote and the class’ FAVOURITE activity of the day was the play bus! Our happy faces say it all….

Sports’ Day
Sports’ Day will be on Friday 18th May. There will be many events happening over the day for the children. The Sports’ Day races will be held at the pitches at Holyrood Secondary. Times for year groups are as follows:
P1—2 1.30pm —2.30pm
P3—4 11am—12pm
P 5, 6 & 7 9.20am—10.20am
Other events such as the Playbus, Gymnastics, Karate and other sports events will be happening over the day. The children should wear their PE kit on this day with a jogging suit or leggings with a zipper top over their PE kit for the other events on the day.

To support our learning about ‘People who Help Us’, Primary 1 have visited our local Community Fire Station. Today was the turn of P1c and half of P1b. The fire fighters were so friendly and showed us all the equipment stored in the fire engine. Best of all, everyone got to hold the hose and spray LOTS of water!!
