Voting for our voice…

Today, P5A voted for their class representatives for the following committees :

Playground, Enterprise, International, Fairtrade And Fundraising.

We attended the Digi Hub this morning. The candidates used this time to create a PowerPoint to support them during the afternoon presentations. They included information on their PowerPoint slides to inform the audience about why they want to be a class representative and why they are suitable for the role.

Votes are now in! The elected candidates will be announced tomorrow…

Day of Play

September 14, 2018 by Mrs Marletta | 0 comments

We have had a great time this week, celebrating Holy Cross feast day. The Day of Play on Wednesday was a highlight for all of us, so much so that we are already looking forward to next year’s!

We had a chance to play outside in our sensory garden, with the drums, hula hoops and stepping stones providing many laughs. We also got to learn some new games and enjoy old favourites thanks to the Jeely Piece co-ordinators, who kindly joined us for this event. It’s fair to say we were all exhausted but delighted at the end of this session. There were also arts and crafts to do on the day and we all had fun painting, drawing and glittering. We finished the day in the construction room, where we built towers taller than ourselves and many imaginative creations.

We hope you enjoy these photos from the day!

Some of our parents have come along to the city chambers today to take part in training for our upcoming parent partnership initiative! A beautiful building…. and a very exciting opportunity for the school.

Green Tree School Award

We are delighted to share with you that the pupils in Holy Cross have achieved the Green Tree School Gold award through the Woodland Trust. We have completed many environmental projects through outdoor learning. It has been a fantastic way to enhance the school’s green credentials while inspiring youngsters about woods and trees.

Primary 1C Visit to the Library

Today we had great fun when we visited Govanhill Library.  We learned about what was there and how we can use the library.  We heard two great stories, then we had time to look at the books.  We even got to borrow a book each to take back to school!
