In Primary 2a we loved to do some active spelling. We find fun ways to help us learn our spelling words. Learning doesn’t have to be boring!

Primary 2 had an amazing time at Cunningar Loop last week. We got to do a wildlife scavenger hunt, create a magical forest and make bird feeders. A fantastic way to spend your morning!

Primary 2a had a great time in the playground.
” We had lots of sums we had to answer. Then we had to find the stones that had the correct number on them to discover the secret message. It was Maths is Fun!”
“It was lots of fun working outside.”
“I liked trying to find the correct stones. They were all hidden in the playground.”

Volcano structures created ✅
Volcano structures painted ✅
Finally, it was time for P5a to erupt their volcanoes!
By mixing bicarbonate soda, warm water, food colouring and vinegar, we made our ‘active’ volcanoes erupt. We had SO much fun. Check out the video!
Sorry to our families- we stink of vinegar!! 😂

This week P3B worked collaboratively to design and create real life sized pharoahs for our wall display. It was great to see them working together as a team and helping one another. Each group did a fantastic job!

This week in P4c we have been celebrating each other’s successes. It was great fun! The children listened to one another telling us about the achievements they have made inside and outside of school. The children then got the opportunity to write certificates to their peers to show a celebration of these successes and achievements.

Since our theme for the whole day was BOOKS to celebrate ‘World Book Day’, P5a used the Book Creator app in the Digi hub today.
Working collaboratively in groups, we designed our own book for the story ‘The King and the Ring’ that we learned in class last week. 👑 📚
If you scroll to the bottom and click on the link, we have one of our successful learners further explaining what we were doing in Digi hub today 👏🏼

❤ P5a had a fantastic World Book Day! ❤
We enjoyed dressing up as our favourite book characters. We LOVED choosing a book from the Book Swap library and we even had a “teacher swap” as Mrs Scally came to our class to read us a story.
At the end of the day, we had P7 book buddies and spent time with them reading our favourite books. All in all, a fun-filled day with a love for BOOKS! 📖

In P2/1 we love to read ❤️. We always start our morning with a book and that’s exactly how we started World Book Day 2019 📚. We were delighted by a special visit from Miss O’Neill to read to us and had fun partnering up with P4c for some paired reading. The book swap shop was a huge success and all of us managed to select a book to enjoy at home 👍🏼.

Primary 3B had a fantastic time celebrating World Book Day 2019! Lots of children dressed up as exciting characters from their favourite books. We had princesses, superheroes, Harry Potter and even Supertato!
We began the day by pairing up with children from P6B to share stories. We then got the chance to swap/choose a book from the book swap. We cannot wait to start reading our new books!
Miss Corby visited our classroom in the afternoon to read us a book in Irish. It was great to hear a story in another language. We then played an exciting game of book bingo before designing and making our very own bookmarks.
We hope you enjoy looking at some of our favourite moments.
