Bonfire Night Art

November 2, 2017 by Mrs Lamb | 0 comments

This week, P2A looked at the story of Bonfire Night. We learned about Guy Fawkes and how his plot to destroy Parliament and King James I was foiled by a simple letter!

We created a bonfire landscape by tearing and collaging red, yellow, orange and pink tissue paper onto black card. This made it look like the sky was on fire from the many bonfires around the city of London.

We glued an image of Parliament onto the foreground and added sparkly pipe cleaners to create a firework effect.

Fun Fact: Most of the Palace of Westminster or the Houses of Parliament was destroyed in a fire in 1834.The image of Parliament we used isn’t correct as the current Houses of Parliament building in London was not completed until 1870.

Here we are with some of our fabulous artwork!

Instruments in Big Noise!

November 2, 2017 by Mrs Lamb | 0 comments

Today, P2A got to experience 4 different string instruments with the Big Noise Team.

They looked at the violin, viola, cello and double bass and were able to take a turn playing the different instruments. They really enjoyed it and at the end were able to choose which instrument they wanted to learn. They are looking forward to starting this musical journey as is Miss Ely!

See some fabulous photos below!
