We worked in pairs today to record as many ways to make 10 as possible! We used ten frames and cubes to help us. Look how clever we are! đ

This afternoon the engineering masterclass were given the task of meeting a design brief and what a success it was!
The children had to work in teams to create models that had
-at least 4 pillars
-each team member involved in the design
-every part joined to another part of the structure
-measured at least 0.5m at its tallest point.
As you can see from the wide range of models, the children certainly extended their imagination as well as their critical thinking and mathematics skills!
A successful afternoon all round!

We have been learning all about people who help us. This week, our focus was the police. After making police badges and learning the types of jobs detectives do, we were able to apply our skills today to catch a crook!
This morning we walked into a crime scene! SOMEBODY stole our library books! Mrs Gray arrived to our classroom with a letter that the police had delivered to the office. The letter told us that the P1a Police Department had to solve the crime!!
We worked really hard in our detective teams to solve the problem. We measured footprints, matched footprint and fingerprint patterns and we interviewed each suspect. After lots of super investigating, we caught the crook!

In maths, we have began learning how to tell the time on an analogue clock. Today we worked with our partners to make different times on our clocks. Here is some evidence of very successful learning!! â± IMG_3287IMG_3286
