Check-in

A Support for Learning check-in provides students requiring additional support with a dedicated time to reflect on both the social and academic aspects of school. This check-in allows them to express any concerns or challenges they may be facing either socially or academically. It offers an opportunity for students to discuss their academic progress, identifying strengths they can build on and areas where they may need additional support.

A staff member from the Support for Learning department facilitates these check-ins, working with different pupils to ensure they receive support. These sessions help create a supportive environment where students feel heard, understood, and empowered to overcome obstacles in their learning journey. Check-ins can happen weekly, fortnightly, monthly or termly and help pupils to develop self-awareness, confidence, and strategies to navigate both academic and social challenges effectively.
