The exciting life and whimsical times of Lourdes Secondary Library

Here begin the chronicles of the exciting life and whimsical times of Lourdes Secondary Library!

Opening hours are 8.30am to 4.30pm, from Wednesday to Friday. The library is closed at interval, but open at lunchtime from 1.20pm to 1.45pm. All pupils must have library passes to use the library at lunchtime. You can get a library pass before or after school on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. From February, the Role-Playing Games Club will meet fortnightly, on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.

Pupils, school staff, and pupils’ families are welcome – nay, encouraged – to follow the library on social media. The Twitter account is @LibLourdes and the Instagram account is lourdeslibrary . The library mascot, Boba Felephant also shares his perspective about the school library’s happenings on Instagram here.

Welcome to the Lochend Library Blog

Hello and welcome to the Lochend Library blog 🙂

This first post is just to give you some basic information about the library –  but look out for future posts about activities, events, lunchtime clubs, reading lists, recommendations, photos and general librarian musings.

Library opening hours are from 8.30 to 4.00, Thursday and Friday only. The library is closed at interval but open at lunchtime from 1.35 till 2 on Thursdays and from 12.55 till 1.10 on Fridays.

The Comic & Manga Club takes place on Thursdays at lunchtime. We play games, draw, create comics, do crafts, chat and…read!  There’s something for everyone and we have exclusive use of the library. New members (VIPs) always welcome.

Welcome to our library!

Hello Everybody!

We have been thinking about this introduction for a while now, and, still we aren’t sure how to condense all the different activities that take place in the library in one post.

The solution we came up with is to choose one library aspect or activity per month and tell you a little bit about it.

To welcome you all in our library we chose the most popular books in the library…

As you may have imagined from the picture, we are talking about Comics and Manga. They have always been in demand, so rather than start with a traditional book club, we decided to have a Comic and Manga club as our first lunch club.

Last year, the librarian used to run different games and competitions. This year beside we have been really lucky to have one of our pupils/library assistants taking the club over.

M. is so talented that most of the drawings that decorate the library are hers, also a huge one on the wall that she colors during her breaks.

She organises different games; like a manga version of “Pictionary” or drawing competitions. Even if we try to incentive and help you developing your drawing skills, don’t worry if you don’t like it, we also enjoy a good chat about manga!

So why don’t you join us?

We meet every Tuesday at lunch break, of course, in the library.

Welcome to JPA Library!

Welcome to John Paul Academy Library!

This blog will tell you all about what’s happening in the library, including different clubs and activities and the fun and games that the pupils get up to!

This blog will be updated regularly by Miss West, the Librarian (me!) with occasional posts from some of the students!

The library is open Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm.  We’re open at break and lunch time, and there is a lunch time club every Thursday that enjoys book themed crafts, games and activities.

Welcome to Holyrood School Library

Welcome to Holyrood school library blog. We are looking forward to visiting Govanhill Library for the first meeting of the Hurricane Book Club on 5th November. Really excited to be reading ‘I Am Thunder’ , by Mohammad Khan. We will have a chat about it after the holidays and make sure everyone is enjoying it before we meet Alison again at Govanhill Library. It was great to have her visiting and chatting to us about how to join the local community library.
