Eastmuir’s Bug Hotel

It’s been a long time since our last post but we have been working with Kenny from Shettleston Growers to build a bug hotel.

It has taken ages! – Christopher

We have put a lot of work into it. – Thomas

We collected pinecones to put in the mini-beast hotel. – Kylie

We took some wood and painted insects on it. – Justin

We painted our recycled windmill. -Lucy

Some of us worked with Kenny and the rest of use put lots of natural materials inside the hotel.

I enjoyed myself. I helped sort the branches by their size.  – Ace

We drilled some holes into logs to make homes for ladybirds and solitary bees. -Cian

We used some of the braches that fell down from the tree inside our bug hotel. – Kenneth

We put slate in our hotel to make layers. – Chloe

We had fun and we sometimes worked together. -Luci

Our mini-beast hotel

Lots of bugs can use our mini-beast hotel. We will be looking for ants, millipedes, bees, spiders, slugs, snails, lady birds, caterpillars, butterflies, and hedgehogs.

  1. WELL DONE, CLASS 4!!!

You have worked really hard as a team to create a minibeast hotel and improve our school grounds.

Well done also on acheiving the John Muir Discovery Award.
