Transitions

Transitions are a are very important part of everyone’s life. Children and young people who speak English as an Additional Language (EAL), and in particular who are new to it, face additional transitions of a new language, new culture, new home. It is therefore our role, as adults working with children and young people, to support them in all aspects of transitions.

Developed with Unicef UK, Refugee Education UK  set of advice sheets is designed to help practitioners better support refugee and asylum-seeking young people’s education. These advice sheets offer practical tips and guidance for individuals and education institutions for overcoming the challenges that young refugees and asylum seekers face during the transition to further education (FE) and higher education (HE).

REUK is a national organisation supporting hundreds of refugee and asylum-seeking children and young people across the UK.
