When thinking about communication  in the context of EAL learners we might be initially thinking of basic vocabulary to “get by”. There is, however, more to developing  communication skills than one might think. On the one hand we want to focus on equipping our young people with survival language. On the other hand,  communication is more than just vocabulary.
