At Drumchapel High School, we believe in providing every student with a tailored educational experience that meets their unique needs and aspirations. Our Alternative Curriculum is designed to offer a diverse range of learning opportunities beyond the traditional classroom setting. By combining hands-on experiences, vocational training, and personalised academic support, we empower students to thrive in their own way. In the last 5 months we have been working on ensuring our pupils who have emotional barriers to coming to school are able to access our Achievement Zone to complete much needed qualifications to help them on to the next chapter of their life after school.
Mr Craig and Mrs Dornan have been working hard with pupils in school and at the Library Outreach Programme in our Achievement Zone to complete SQA qualifications. This has allowed us to target and support young people who have struggled to attend school due to various reasons.
In the Alternative Curriculum we have been working with our young people in their BGE Groups to prepare them for the next step into senior phase by focusing on mental and physical wellbeing ahead of the transition into S4.
