Financial Inclusion

We have a finance officer in school every Thursday morning to help families with a variety of issues including housing, benefits, Free School Meals, employment and training etc.  Please drop in on a Thursday morning to speak to Emma or to arrange an appointment. All information shared with Emma is confidential and she can arrange to meet you outside of the school building, should you prefer.

Classes for Parents/Carers

We run a variety of classes for parents in school at different times of the year, including ESOL classes. Please ask at the office for more information.

Upcoming ESOL class topics: (Monday morning at 9.00 unless stated)

  • Monday 11th May: Artemis Space – Going to the dark side of the moon.
  • Monday 18th May: Eating out and ordering food.
  • Tuesday 26th May: Health and well being strategies.
  • Monday 1st June: Sports and entertainment.
  • Monday 8th June: Games and conversation

Parent Pay

The council requires that parents/carers use Parent Pay to pay for items such as lunches and trips. You will have received instructions on how to do this. Please contact the school office if you have any problems as the school will no longer be able to accept cash payments.

School Lunches

School lunches are free for children in P1-6 and for children in P7 who have successfully applied for free school meals. If your child is in P7 and is not entitled to free school meals the options are to provide a packed lunch or to pay for a school dinner via Parent Pay. This will avoid building up debt which will require to be repaid to Glasgow City Council. The school cannot accept cash payments. Please consider applying for free school meals even if your child is P1-6 as this can provide access to further benefits.

If you require assistance with these, please come to school for Financial Inclusion on a Thursday morning.

Parking

Parking continues to be an issue at both the Cuthbertson Street and Coplaw Street exits. Please do not park on the cycle lane in front of the school, or in a manner that blocks in other traffic. We have a Crossing Patrol man (Robert) at the crossing outside the Cuthbertson Street exit. Please cross with Robert as the road outside the school is particularly busy at 3pm.
