Preparing Your Child For Starting School:

Here at Crookston Castle Primary we recommend that all Pre-Entant parents read the following leaflet to help you to prepare your child for starting school. It has great advice and tips.

Hints and Tips to Help Your Child in School:

• Get your child to school on time, late coming disrupts lessons
• Inform us of any illness/allergies and ensure we have inhales if need be
• Let us know when your child is off or send a note the next day. We will text you if we don’t get a message
• Please equip your child for all weathers. We aim to be outside as often as we can
• All visitors should report to the school office
• No parking in the school grounds. Our car park is for staff and disabled access only
• If you are running late at home time, please let us know
• Smoking is not allowed in the school grounds
• Adult supervision is from 8.45am in the playground. Please don’t send children too early
• Dogs are not allowed in the playground
• Check your child’s bag for forms or letters and please return these quickly, especially trip or medical forms
• Parking on the yellow zigzag outside the school is a road and traffic offence
• Remind children to pack gym kit and please remove all jewellery on gym days
• Please do not take other people’s children home unless you have permission from the parent/carer
• Please do not send fizzy drinks or too many sweets with your child, fruit and healthy snacks are preferred
