Our Sports Leaders help to develop physical education, physical activity and sport in Cranhill. Sports leaders have an opportunity to share their thoughts and opinions with others across our school, and help to make important decision about sports, equipment and facilities in the school.
Sports Leaders apply at the start of each year by stating why they think they would make an excellent candidate for the job, why they want to be one, and what they can bring to the role of developing sport in Cranhill.
Our Sports Leaders are trained to lead activities and games with younger children and are taught the important qualities that are needed when working with young people. They then work with Primary 1-3 children during lunchtimes each Friday to lead games and ensure playtimes are inclusive for everyone and that no child is left alone with no one to play with.
Sports Leaders help to organise and lead events such as Sports Day and Soccer Aid; give opinions on what they would like our PE and sport curriculum to contain; and help to source and buy new sports and games equipment for other children in our school.
