  1. Don’t forget that the best way to get good at close reading is to read as much as possible in your spare time. You should ensure that you download one of the quality newspaper apps on to your phone so that you can access regular feature articles of your choice. If you get into the habit of reading good qualilty journalism then the final assessments for analysis and evaluation will be a breeze!

  2. I have added the powerpoint that we looked at today on answering the summary question for close reading. Practice at home by reading newspaper articles and then summarising them or by summarising text that you are using in other subject areas across the school. Remember, the skills you are learning in my lessons are not just for the English classroom!!

  3. Don’t forget that you have your internal assessment on Reading for UAE (Close reading) on Wednesday. Prepare by reading over the kinds of question that you have difficulty with above.
