‘Read, Write, Count’ is a national campaign to improve the literacy and numeracy skills of Scotland’s children. As part of the campaign, every child in primary 2 receives a free bag with books and activities to support their learning.
What does the Read Write Count bag contain?
Your child’s bag contains a booklet with ideas and activities related to the books, a notebook, pencil, whiteboard pen, counters and dice, a board game and whiteboard, and a set of story dice as well as the picture books;
- Steve, Terror of the Seas by Megan Brewis
- The King Cat by Marta Altes

The Parent Club website has lots of ideas for activities that you can do with your Read Write Count bag.
Free family workshop!
To celebrate, we are hosting a free family workshop for P2 pupils and their families, with tasty treats available at our Blether afterwards. Ask your child’s teacher for details if you have missed the first few sessions.
