Junk Kouture 2017 – 2016 Winner on stage!

It was great to see our 2016 winner Ola up on stage wishing everyone luck and talking about her Junk Kouture experience. Here she is on stage with a photo in the background of her dress Reborn. During the show she was asked to sign a few programmes for some of the younger members of the audience. Mum, Dad and brother Oliver also came along to see Ola on stage once more.

Junk Kouture 2017 – Pollok Park

After hearing the good news about  making it through to the Junk Kouture finals, we slipped off to Pollok Park to take a few more photos of Maise in the dress. Unfortunately the Highland Cows were at the other side of the field.

Junk Kouture 2017

Here is our newest 2017 Junk Kouture design. This was designed by 2 of our S4 pupils Maisie & Kerr. This was designed using old fabric sample books from a local company, sticks and leaves, highland cow hair and pig trotters! This design is called Sowma! These images were used to enter the competition.

Marvellous Murals Competition Winner 2016

Here is our winning design in a recent competition. Ella Bryson in S5 produced this digital drawing of her interpretation of what the Gorbals Vampire would look like. This design was chosen and was reproduced by an Art company called Art Pistol. This design will remain in the Gorbals for years to come. This design was used to advertise ‘The Gorbals Vampire’ production, which was shown at the Citizens Theatre.

Competition Winners – ‘Mackintosh The Innovator’ 2016

Well done to Maisie who won 1st prize in the Expressive category with her Mackintosh inspired glass painting and also a big well done to Fabiola & Holly, who secured 2nd place in the Design category with their Mackintosh inspired dress. This competition follows on from the previously named ‘It’s My Greener Glasgow Competition’, which is run by the St Enoch centre.
