Home Learning – Day 27

Good Morning,

How are you all today? I have the sniffles today so lots of tea and rest for me.

I would love to read some stories today. Below I have given you some photos as inspiration to write a story. Let your imagination flow and be creative.

What might be behind this door? A magical land?

Who might live in this treehouse? What do they look like?

Who might live in this place? What do they look like? Does it take you to a different land?

I look forward to reading your stories!
Happy writing 📖

Miss Milne 🙂

Happy Monday

Good afternoon,

How are you all today? Did you have a lovely weekend?

What wonderful home learning did you get up to today?
In the comments I would love to hear what you have done today, learning or for fun.

Keep an eye out tomorrow for the next chapter of our story. The chapter is called Dark is Kind. What Do you think Plop might learn about the dark next?

Can’t wait to hear from you all!
Miss Milne 🙂

Happy Friday!

Hi boys and girls,

Not sure how but I forgot to post a blog yesterday. Must be lockdown brain. Silly Miss Milne 🙃

So today is all about the outdoors! Mrs Brightman put together this video of the staff in the outdoors this week.

What could you do in the outdoors today? Maybe you could make a video of your own of what you find in the outdoors! Can’t get outdoors? Why not see what you can find from the open windows in your home.

As always, if you make a video or take some photos please feel free to send them to me, I would love to see them all.

Happy Friday

Miss Milne 🙂

Home Learning – Day 23

Happy Wednesday,

Each week I will read a chapter of our book The Owl Who Was Afraid of the Dark! Try and follow the video using your own book that can be found in your pack.

After reading the first chapter have a think about some of the things that maybe frighten you. Here are some questions you could ask each other…
* what is one thing that scares you?
* why does it frighten you?
* what could you change about your fear to make it funny so that it’s not too scary anymore?

(example: I’m afraid of snakes. I’m most scared of the way they move so sometimes I like to imagine them like cartoon characters with big eyes and a silly voice. This helps make them seem less frightening.)

The main character is called Plop. Plop and his family are barn owls. What can you find out about barn owls? I would love for you to share some facts about barn owls you find out in the comments.

Enjoy family discussions and stories today. I hope you are all well and keeping safe!

Home Learning – Day 22

Good Morning troops!

I declare today Times Table Tuesday! Let’s concentrate on our times tables by writing them down, singing songs, playing games and choosing one of our tables worksheets!

Why not try singing along with these times table songs…

Or perhaps play this fun tables game…

https://www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/hit-the-button

Remember when you are writing your times tables down you want to add the number we are multiplying to the answer we get each time.
2 x 1 = 2         add another 2

2 x 2 = 4          add another 2

2 x 3 = 6

Whatever you choose to do today have a great time.
Miss you all loads.

Home Learning – Day 21

Good Morning

It was so lovely seeing you all on Friday whilst delivering the Learning Packs. The packs are there for you to do as you please, there is no pressure to complete all the sheets and I don’t need to see them unless you want to send me a picture or two of your amazing work.

Today why not have a look through the pack and pick an activity to do. Or perhaps play the feelings game with your family.
I included a list of useful websites at the back of the pack, why not try a new game online.

I included a book in the pack and will be reading the story with the children so Remember to keep checking on here and the infants YouTube channel for activities.

Have a wonderful Monday

Miss Milne 🙂

Home Learning – Day 20

Happy Friday 🥳

Let’s get creative today. Listen to this story read by Miss Bull to start our creative day.

Let’s use the story as inspiration to do some art with Mr Corrigan all about Cherry Blossom trees.

However you choose to spend your Friday I hope you have a super day.

Top marks has lots of fun and engaging games for you to play. What’s your favourite?

Let’s write a story with Mr Corrigan!

Have a great Thursday!

Miss Milne 🙂

It’s okay to feel!

It’s important to remember that things are difficult right now and it’s okay to feel however you feel. You might feel happy and excited at times but you might also feel sad and maybe a little angry at times too. That’s okay. I feel all these things too.

The staff at St Albert’s have made a video all about feelings and what you can do during these difficult times when you are feeling sad.

Stay safe and remember it’s okay to feel!
Miss you all so much.

Home Learning – Day 18

Bonjour!

How are you all today? I’m feeling a bit tired and sluggish today so I thought we would have an active day today and get those bodies moving in any way we can.

Here are some suggestions…

Joe Wicks has a number of daily PE lessons to follow on his YouTube page. I couldn’t pick one for you as there are so many great ones so check them out.

https://www.youtube.com/user/thebodycoach1

This video is a workout you can do with the family.

Why not make up your own exercise routine for everyone at home and pretend you are the teacher.

Whatever you choose to do today, try and choose one thing that gets you moving and keep you active. Today I’m going to put some of my favourite music on and dance!

I hope you all have a great day. I would love to hear what active things you get up to.

Miss Milne 🙂
