Science Week Workshop

Before the holidays, we had a visit from two science specialists! They taught us about molecules and how all the matter in the universe is composed of atoms. We got to create some molecule models from little balls and sticks that represented the elements: oxygen, hydrogen and carbon.

It was amazing to find out that all sorts of things were made from just these three elements combined in different ways. Not just water (H2O – hydrogen and oxygen) but very complicated things like nail varnish remover and washing powder!

We all got a taste of what chemistry is really all about!
