Our Learning This Week 30th May – 2nd June
This week we started to plan our assembly. We thought about all of our learning this year and then decided with a vote! Our P2 Assembly will be on Thursday the 15th of June at 2pm! All welcome!
We have been learning all about symmetry this week in P2a. We have looked at symmetry in nature and around our class. We painted symmetrical butterflies – it was so fun!
Malaika made a real life connection when she sliced her cheese in the lunch hall and said “Look!! It’s symmetry!”
I want to know how to do lots of take away sums and write nicer – Anum.
At the end of Primary 2 I want to do more sharing and caring – Iqra.
By the end of Primary 2 I would like to know more about adding sums and do more art – Hamza.
By the end of Primary 2 I want to do more fun things – Fraser.
I want to know how to make my handwriting better – Fahad.
We have been playing games outside and working as a team – Mohamed Jomaa.
We learned about tens and units using sticks and leaves! – Malaika.
We have been going outside to play games and have fun – Fahad.
We have been playing rounders. We have been throwing, catching and batting the ball – Ibrahim.
This week we have been learning loads!!
We were learning about standard and non-standard units of measurement. We were sorting pictures – Noor Fatima.
We were learning about Malawi. We made our own Malawian Art about Malawi Mums! They wear Chitenges to carry their babies – Iqra.
We are learning about estimating. That’s when you take a good guess – Haiqa.
We sent a letter back to Seonaid who works for Classrooms for Malawi – Hamza.
We visualised The Grand High Witch! – Malaika.
WE were learning about measuring. Our playground in 26m long! – Anum.
We were learning about Malawi and I know that the Malawi flag is black, red and green – Eshal.
This week it was Islamic Awareness week. People wear hijabs and fancy clothes and mehndi – Iqra.
This week I have learned that it is Ismaic Awareness Week and we got to try different foods – Noor Fatima.
I have learned how to use an iPad this week. I know that you can swipe and tap and pinch – Haiqa.
Yesterday we made models of transport out of clay! It was so soft and messy! – Malaika
We have been learning about subitising – Fahad.
We learned about the story of The Good Samaritan. Miss Kinloch’s car ran out of petrol and a Good Samaritan helped her. We have to always try and be Good Samaritans! – Mohamed Jomaa
This week has been a great week in P2a!
We had a great time at Golden Time! We get to choose which activity we wanted to go to! – Mailaka
We wrote about travelling to an imaginary places. We were so creative and the writing was outstanding! – Iqra
On Friday, it was a bright and sunny day so we had a nice long play time – Haiqa
We worked with Lego and other practical materials to make our own patterns!

Today marks the very first day of Spring 2017! We were so excited to see the sun this afternoon that we decided to go outside to practise skipping and writing our tricky words on the walls! Help us cheer on our champion skipper – Iqra!
Today we were learning all about St. Patrick and why some people celebrate his life on March 17th! We watched some Irish Dancing and had a go at our own jig – tell us what you think!
We have been learning all about dance this term with our our dance instructor Danielle from Determined to Dance. Our dance performance is this Wednesday the 22nd at 1:30pm in the hall! All welcome – hope to see you there!
This week we were sorting and we sorted coins, bowls, sticks and cards. This taught us about patterns – Iqra.
This week we have also been doing work on Fairtrade. In our jotters, we had to draw four pictures of Fairtrade products. Here is what I drew: a latte, a banana, chocolate and a juice carton – Danial.
We learned about animals from the SPCA. People are taking tiger’s skin to make carpets. I feel horrible about this – Noor Fatima.
This week we have learned more about skimming. Skimming is when you have a quick look – Eshal.
We learned about Amelia Earhart. We were writing all about her. She was a very brave woman. She was very good at flying aeroplanes – Malaika.
We have been learning about even more about transport. We painted the sky, the road and the sea and then we sorted five different means of transport into the right place – Anum.
Yesterday we were dressed up in Fairtrade colours because it’s Fairtrade fortnight. We ate Fairtrade snacks and watched a video about Fairtrade -Haiqa
