Gaelic with Glendale :)

You may remember we learned some Scottish Gaelic with P5 as part of our Scottish Clans and Castles topic this term, which we showcased when singing a Gaelic song for the Burns Assembly.

As part of our learning we were lucky enough to welcome some visitors from Glendale Gaelic School to St Albert’s today. Miss MacRuary brought her P5/6 class to do some work with our class and P5. We were both being great audiences.

They spoke to us about learning Gaelic and why it is important to them. They also talked about different Gaelic culture and things they do outwith school linked to Gaelic such as playing shinty, going to ceilidhs and the Mod and watching BBC Alba.

Then we sang them our song ‘Fuar Fuar’ and they understood our super Gaelic accents!

They sang us 2 different Gaelic songs and then we went to the hall where they taught us 2 different games in Gaelic.

We had a great afternoon and hope to go and visit Glendale Gaelic School next term!
