Curriculum

Learning Through Play at Woodlands

At Woodlands, children are surrounded by exciting opportunities to learn and grow every day. We follow Scotland’s Curriculum for Excellence, which helps support children’s development in a fun and meaningful way.

The curriculum is made up of eight key areas:

  • Health and Wellbeing
  • Literacy and English
  • Numeracy and Maths
  • Expressive Arts
  • Science
  • Technologies
  • Social Subjects
  • Religious and Moral Education

Our caring staff team work together to help children become:

  • Successful Learners – curious and eager to explore
  • Confident Individuals – proud of who they are
  • Responsible Citizens – kind and respectful to others
  • Effective Contributors – ready to share ideas and work together

Most children in nursery and Primary 1 will be learning within the Early Level of the Curriculum for Excellence, which is designed to match their stage of development and interests.
