Our Nursery

Welcome to Westfield Family Nurture Centre

The Nursery was opened in the 1950’s as part of Castlehill Primary School and as the number of children in Cupar has increased the nursery has grown and has now taken over all of the Westfield Road location.  We have four nursery classes providing services to up to 180 children.

We provide pre-school education for children aged 2, 3 & 4 years  across our main building and our annex building, The Treehouse.

Within the main 3 – 5 nursery are three large playrooms, each with open access to a well resourced outdoor play areas.  The Treehouse accommodates our under 3 children, and has it’s own secure garden area.

Your child will have an identified key worker who will be responsible for gathering information on your child’s development and learning and will keep you informed of their progress.

We believe in working in partnership with parents to help our children make as much progress as possible in all areas of learning during their time with us.

The nursery has strong links with the local primary and secondary schools as well as the local community. We normally encourage and welcome parents’ involvement in a variety of formal and informal ways but due to current restrictions this is currently on hold. We look forward to inviting you back into nursery as soon as we can.

The senior leadership team consists of a Head Teacher, a Depute Head of Centre, Principal Teacher, 4 Senior Early Years Officers and Senior Early Years Officer/ Family worker. Our staffing consists of Early Years Officers, a Pupil Support Assistant and 3 Clerical Assistants.

Westfield Family Nurture Centre has well-established links with a wide range of agencies, helping provide high quality support to children and families, assisting in the removal of barriers to potential learning and development.

We are a strong team.  Our ethos permeates all our work with children and families.  We do this by  being  Welcoming, Warm, Supportive, Trusting, Respectful and Respecting, Approachable, Friendly and Fun.   We take pride in promoting confidence and independence in our children as we establish them on their learning journey to develop skills for learning, life and work.
