St Monans Primary School

NURSERY

We provide nursery provision for children aged 2,3,4 and 5-year olds across our two buildings.

We have the 3-5 Building and our annex we have the Early Entrants that accommodate for 2-year old children who are eligible to receive 1140hours as well as those who have been referred from a partner agency. For many of you, your child starting nursery will be the first step of their education journey and our nursery team firmly believes in building a positive partnership with you.

In both of our nurseries we aim for all children to be happy, confident individuals who are able to explore and discover throughout their time here. We provide a secure, happy and stimulating environment for all children where they will have fun and receive support as they need it. We will encourage them to become independent, care for things, others and grow a love for exploring through play.

We complement our work with children by supporting families and have a variety of family learning and support groups on offer.

We believe in working in partnership with parents to help our children make as much progress as possible in all areas of learning during their time with us.

Your child will have an identified key worker who will be responsible for gathering information on your child’s development and learning.

What is a Personal Learning Journey (PLJ)?

· A PLJ is a record of children’s learning throughout their time at nursery.

· During the year you will be invited to progress chats with your child’s key worker to discuss their learning and identify next steps.

· Families can contribute to their child’s PLJ through family learning sheets.
