School Houses
The pupils in the school are divided into three houses, with siblings staying within the same house.
Our house names are closely connected to the community.
Inverie –
For sports day pupils are encouraged to wear a red top to collect points for their house.
Prior to 875ad the village was named Inverie , changing when St.Monan was buried in a shrine in the village. The village then become a significant fishing port and now has a street named Inverie.
Newark –
For sports day pupils are encouraged to wear a blue top to collect points for their house.
Once standing proud on the cliffside after being built in the 15th and 16th centuries overlooking the North Sea, Newark castle remains now as a ruin. Having been built by the Kinloch family and then sold onto David Leslie who became Lord Newark after the English and Scottish Civil wars. The village has a street named Newark.
Abercrombie –
For sports day pupils are encouraged to wear a yellow top to collect points for their house.
Abercrombie was the name of the parish in which St.Monans is located. The parish moved to St.Monans in 1646 when the Abercrombie Church was abandoned. The farming settlement is 1 mile north of St.Monans and has close links within the community and community council.
