School – School Aims

School Aims

We aim to:

  1. Develop positive relationships between all of the people involved in working in and with the school and develop our school as a community of Faith & Learning
  2. Develop the four capacities in ‘A Curriculum for Excellence’: that children should become successful learners, confident individuals, responsible citizens and effective contributors.
  3. Keep our pupils safe, well looked after, healthy and active and encourage an environmentally sustainable lifestyle as well as an appreciation of Scotland and its place in the world.
  4. Treat our pupils with respect; to ensure that all pupils are included, helped to achieve and encouraged to act responsibly.
  5. Help and encourage pupils to achieve their full potential and act responsibily.
  6. Create the highest quality learning experiences in order that our learners and teacher focus rigorously on the achievement of learning outcomes.
  7. Provide a broad curriculum that develops skills for learning, life and work, with a focus on literacy, numeracy and Health & Wellbeing and where assessment is an integral part of the learning process.

Our school must provide a broad curriculum that develops skills for learning, skills for life and skills for work, with a focus on literacy, numeracy and an assessment system based on pupil and teacher assessment strategies.
