Determined to Succeed

The Determined to Succeed initiative is designed to develop pupils’ awareness and understanding of ‘enterprise’ and how this can positively affect their lives.

Enterprise education makes learning experiences real for children.  They are given responsibility to make decisions, there is a role for every child the activities are coherent, progressive and meet the criteria for A Curriculum for Excellence.  Looking long term Enterprise can offer children experiences to enhance their future employability.

Enterprise projects involve the four R’s:

• Real – Involving the children in a ‘real’ project that will provide skills for lifelong learning.
• Role – Every child has a role to play in the Enterprise Project.
• Responsibility – Every child has an element of responsibility.
• Risk – The project may not go to plan so the children can experience success and sometimes failure.
