Numeracy
Last week we were learning how to simplify fractions and how to make equivalent fractions. Everyday we do our mental maths on Blooket and play against each other to win points. Another group in class were also doing fractions, they worked with Miss Westwater and used their times table number sheet to work out the answers and make equivalent fractions.

Reading
During reading this week we completed comprehension on our reading books. We all read a chapter of part of our books with Miss Westwater, Mrs Anderson or Miss Bennewith. Some of us had to complete an activity booklet that matches our book. Others had to complete an Accelerated Reader test to get points and a sticker on their BookFlix card.

Topic
For topic we have been learning about Myths and Legends and have been planning our sculptures we are going to make that are based on a Mythical animal or creature. We have been searching up research and inspiration on Google and we have been measuring out how big we might want to make our sculpture. I am doing a mermaid for my sculpture.

Science
In science, we were in four groups and one group had to make sustainable development goals. Another group made and cut out wind turbines and another group was using a hairdryer to see which fan would work and determine which one would move in the wind. It was attached to a motor and we investigated which one would turn on the light. The last group had to write out or draw a picture of the school and see where they could put wind turbines, like a birds eye view plan.

Ceilidh
We walked up to the community centre on Friday to join in with the school’s Ceilidh. Primary 7’s were up first and we did strip the willow and read our poems. Then we watched the rest of the school perform their Scottish bits and pieces including different dance, poems and songs. The Primary 7’s finished the show with The Swedish Masquerade and sing I’m On My Way by The Proclaimers. We also got to dance The Gay Gordans with our family members and friends.
