Ms Cobbett – Headteacher

Hello, I’m Victoria Cobbett and I have been Headteacher at Southwood Primary for nine years. I find this difficult to believe! I love working at Southwood and this summer I will have seen my first cohort of Southwood children through their full nine years of nursery and primary education. I believe that the team here is second to none and provide a truly nurturing and caring environment for the children as well as very strong learning and teaching.

I have taught in Fife since graduating, starting my career at Cardenden Primary school as a class teacher.  Prior to being appointed to Southwood, I was a Depute Headteacher at Burntisland Primary School for almost five years. I have also carried out several temporary posts as Headteacher at Cardenden, Aberdour and Freuchie Primaries.

In my own time, I am an avid reader and love walking in Fife’s beautiful outdoors. I am mum to a son and daughter and now to Agatha the kitten too!  I never have time to be bored and that’s just how I like it!

Mrs Hunter – Depute Headteacher

Hello, I’m Mrs Hunter. I have been teaching at Southwood for nearly 14 years now. I can’t quite believe it! I remember starting in August 2007 and thinking ‘I can’t wait until I can watch children progress all the way through the school’. After nearly 14 years, I have been so lucky to have watched children from Nursery to P7 grow and flourish in their learning journey.

When I’m not at school, I enjoy watching a good crime drama on Netflix. You will usually find me playing detective and trying to solve the crime before the show does. I also enjoy reading, mostly thrillers. Again, I like trying guess what is going to happen next.

When I’m not pretending I’m a detective, I enjoy spending time with my family, especially when it involves movie nights, pizza and treats!
