Scottish Autism
Scottish Autism is an organisation dedicated to enabling autistic people to lead happy, healthy and fulfilling lives.
Scottish Autism provides support for children and young people aged 5 to 19 through individualised support. They take the time to build up an understanding of each young person, taking into account their processing and thinking style and maximising their learning potential.
Scottish Autism also provide a wide range of services for autistic adults including day and vocational opportunities and support living options.
They have a dedicated team of experienced autism advisors who are on hand to give emotional and practical support to families and professionals. Whether it is signposting to particular services or getting a diagnosis or just being able to talk to someone who understands.

The Fife One Stop Shop is based in a central location in Kirkcaldy where they offer autistic individuals, their families and professionals information and advice about autism as well as the kinds of support services that are available locally.

Moodcafe have produced and collated information and resources relevant to various mental health issues as well as additional needs.

Kindred
Kindred exists to support parents of children with complex needs. They offer a range of services from one-to-one help, training, support groups, and are there to offer advice you may need. They have a team based in Dunfermline which cover the whole of Fife. They can help with applications for trust grants, assist with applying for benefits and provide advocacy support. They would expect children to qualify for high rate Disability Living Allowance to be eligible for their service.

The Yard 
The Yard is a Scottish charity supporting disabled children and young people aged 0-25 through adventure play. Since 1986, The Yard have been offering creative and inclusive play experiences in a well-supported environment, alongside
wraparound support for the whole family.
The Yard’s flagship centre is in Edinburgh, followed by the opening of The Yard Dundee in 2015 and The Yard Kirkcaldy in 2016.
The Yard offer a varied programme of drop-in, respite and transition youth clubs, early years, specialist sessions with schools, family play sessions, and inclusive play and disability training.
Who can visit The Yard?
The Yard is open to all children and young people with disabilities, and their families. Your child does not need t
o have a diagnosis, and they do not ask for any evidence or paperwork. The Yard support children with physical disabilities, as well as those who are neurodivergent across the full spectrum of support needs, many of whom are still going through the diagnosis process.
What is a taster session?
If you have not visited The Yard before, and your child is aged 0-18, you can arrange a free taster session to see if you would like to join us. You can visit a family session at our site in Edinburgh, Dundee or Kirkcaldy, to meet the play team and check out our facilities.
You can then decide if you would like
your child to join as a member of The Yard. As well as your child who has a disability, membership also covers their parents, carers and siblings, who are welcome to attend our family sessions, too.
