At Pitteuchar East, we put a high emphasis on the transition between Nursery and Primary School.
Our transition activities include:
- nursery visits to the school, both formal and informal
- meet your P1 teacher sessions
- regular visits to the school for different learning opportunities
- parents’ workshop, and Q&A session
- parents’ meet the P1 teacher session
- transition peep sessions
If your child has additional support needs, or if we feel your child might benefit from enhanced transition arrangements, we will discuss this fully with you, before transition arrangements take place. You will have the opportunity to express any concerns you may have with a member of nursery staff, as well as a member of the Senior Management Team.
Although we have developed a programme of transition activities, we tailor our work to meet the needs of EACH individual learner. Because of this approach, we can tailor your child’s transition to ensure that their individual needs are recognised and supported through our work.
