About Paxton Nursery, Methil

Located in the heart of Methil, Fife, Paxton Nursery has been delivering excellence in early years education for generations – originally founded in 1934 and operating from a purpose‑built facility since 1960. We are proud of our longstanding roots in the community and of the strong relationships we build with children, families and local partners.

Digital Learning Award

Our passionate team works hard to create a nurturing, inclusive setting where every child is supported, valued and encouraged to explore, imagine and grow. This commitment to high quality has been recognised in multiple ways. We were honoured to receive a Digital Learning Award, making us the first standalone nursery in Fife to achieve this distinction. In addition, according to data gathered by the The Courier, Paxton Nursery came out top of the list in central Fife based on recent inspection scores from the Care Inspectorate. We’re also deeply proud of the active role we play in our local community. With tremendous support from families, local businesses and other community partners, we successfully raised funds to install a brand‑new trim trail – creating an exciting outdoor space where our children can enjoy fresh air, energetic play and adventure. These milestones reflect the heart of what Paxton Nursery stands for: a place where high quality early learning, friendship, innovation and community spirit all come together.

We are now planning to replace our current Trim Trail that we sadly have to say goodbye to.
