Term 2
This term our project is China. To support the learning in class, our homework is going to be a personal project, comparing China to Great Britain. Each week there will be a new research focus, which will build up to a more in depth presentation on a particular point (or points) of interest, at the end of term. For example, geography, culture and traditions, history or climate). More information will be issued about the presentation in coming weeks. Until then the focus is on the general weekly research.
Evidence of weekly research should be posted to Glow or brought to class by Friday of each week.

Term 1
Your child should upload a photo/video, picture or description (as appropriate), as evidence of participating in a Life Skills or John Muir task, to our Glow Classroom on OneDrive. There is more information about this in the Glow Classroom tab/page above. Evidence can be uploaded any day of the week and I shall check the content on a Friday.
Please note that this Term’s homework is equally about developing digital literacy as it is about the specific tasks. The skills of using Glow, OneDrive and maintaining good file management are all linked directly to Fife Council’s progression framework for ICT.
In preparation for our Ardroy residential in October/November, this terms homework has a Health and Wellbeing focus, with the theme of ‘life skills’. At Ardroy, children will be expected to actively contribute to the running and maintenance of the centre, taking a great deal of personal responsibility for themselves, their belongings and each other. These suggested activities will help prepare your child for this experience. For those not going on Camp, these tasks and activities still promote valuable skills and attributes as well as independence.
As part of our John Muir Award, it is important that children are engaging in a range of outdoor experiences to connect with nature and it’s possibilities. The above link has a range of ideas to help families share in these experiences. Some of them will be more appropriate to your circumstances than others but there is a wide range of activities. Please aim for one a week.
Every child will also have their own reading book. We encourage reading in all formats at home. There are also Numeracy and Literacy activities set on Study Ladder for which everyone has their own account login details. Study Ladder can be accessed directly using the above link. THIS WILL BE OPERATIONAL BY 31 AUGUST.
