We have had a busy first week back!

Our new topic is based on Enterprise and Fairtrade. We have received £5 each from Virgin Money and we will work in groups to try to make this money grow. Next week, we will start to generate our ideas and develop our businesses.

We have started our new class novel, Millions by Frank Cottrell-Boyce. We are looking forward to hearing what the characters do with a million pounds in 17 days!

In Numeracy, we are learning about Money and this has included thinking about budgeting, wages/salaries and calculations involving money.

In Literacy, we are developing our reading for information skills and skimming and scanning. We have been taking notes from Information texts and we have used these to create our own report, thinking about the layout and structure.

We enjoyed attending the DCA film festival on Thursday and we had lots of good discussion about the themes in the film, including respect and celebrating diversity and differences.

We have taken part in an art competition to promote the upcoming Christmas Cheer event in Newport.

We have also been developing our skills in ukulele and are becoming more confident in switching between chords.

This week, we have all attended our the Skills Academy of our choice – including STEM, Gymnastics, Origami, Board Games and Outdoor games. We have enjoyed developing our skills and working with others from across the school.
