This week in P6 has been a very busy and exciting one!
In literacy, we have been redrafting our mythical stories using Book Creator. We worked hard to improve our writing by adding more detail, checking punctuation and improving our vocabulary. We are very proud of the fantastic stories we have created!
In art, we have been creating our own artwork inspired by the Yellow Castle in Newport-on-Tay for the Rio Art Competition. We showed great creativity and took time to carefully design and colour our pieces.
In numeracy, we have begun learning about decimals. We have been focusing on how to read decimals, especially when looking at measurements. We have been practising using number lines and real-life examples to help our understanding.
We also enjoyed doing some real-life maths, where we budgeted and calculated different Nando’s orders using real menu prices. This helped us practice adding money, working within a budget and finding change in a fun and practical way.
In health and wellbeing, we have been talking about our worries and learning different strategies to help us cope, such as breathing techniques, talking to someone we trust and positive thinking.
We have also been busy preparing for our Scots Shared Learning. We have been practising reciting our poems, learning dances and creating presentations about Robert Burns. We are really looking forward to sharing our learning with you!
Another fantastic week of hard work!
