P5 have had a very busy and exciting week at school. Throughout Sports Week, everyone enjoyed taking part in a variety of activities including; team games, target zone, cross country, football, Commonwealth Games activities, quizzes and a fun beetle drive. Today was our School Sports Day and we all tried our best. We have showed excellent teamwork, determination and sportsmanship during all events.

In Literacy, we worked hard on writing newspaper reports about World Oceans Day, learning about the importance of protecting our oceans and marine life and using the correct format. In Maths, we developed our understanding of finding the area of 2D shapes using different strategies and problem-solving skills.

The class also delivered individual presentations about World Cup countries, confidently sharing interesting facts and information with their classmates. We made fantastic use of the iPads to support their learning, particularly through Showbie and Freeform, helping them to organise ideas, complete tasks and present their work creatively.

In Drama, we were worked well together on creating short scenes around protecting our oceans. We also designed triorama habitats in groups to develop our creative skills and show our understanding of different habitats.
