Friday 6th March

We enjoyed World Book Day celebrations this week; there were lots of great costumes and props on show. We had fun completing quizzes, art activities and maths puzzles. We also had an author live event with Holly Webb on Monday, who told us all about her new book and what it takes to be author.

We have continued our work on fractions this week, and finding an amount of a fraction. We have also been adding and subtracting fractions.

In Writing, we have written another procedural piece and how to make a Victorian Sponge. We looked to see if we could include adverbs in our writing.

In P.E, we have been developing our skills in gymnastics and hockey. We have been planning a healthy day of eating, thinking about the eatwell balanced plate.

We have designed front covers books in art for the P7 World Book Day competition, all about Buttercup, our school mascot.

In Science, we have been learning about carbon capture and carried out experiments involving lemon juice and bicarbonate of soda!

We enjoyed outdoor learning with P1/2 and creating characters and scenes from books with natural materials.

In French, we have been learning about animals and how to ask others what pets they have.

We continue to develop our music skills with Mr Foggo in drumming.
