Friday 30th January

This week, we have been comparing and contrasting our school life to Victorian times. We took part in a Victorian day in class, where we had to follow very strict rules. We sat in rows and had to work on slates to write our work. We enjoyed a drama lesson acting out a Victorian school day and adopting a role.

We have been developing our narrative writing skills and focusing on an engaging beginning to middle with lots of description and a plot twist. We have been looking to use figurative language and have been learning more about personification.

We have enjoyed taking part in the Sumdog Maths contest this week and have been trying hard to be accurate with out mental maths. We have been developing our trial and error skills in problem solving and drawing and reading line graphs in our Maths work.

We have also taken part in the RSPB Big Bird Watch and will analyse our data.

In Science, we have been exploring renewable energy in transport and designed and labelled our own ideas.

We have been exploring what to do with worries in HWB and how exercise, sleep and diet can contribute to a healthy lifestyle. In PE, we have been developing our skills in gymnastics and rugby. We have also continued to learn Scottish dances.
