Today we had a visit from our local MP, Wendy Chamberlain. This was to celebrate UK Parliament week. We asked lots of good questions and shared our ideas for making a difference with her. We created our own political parties this week and we each took on a role as part of these parties. We had to agree what our main issue was and how we planned to achieve this. We presented our ideas to the class and then we carried out a vote as part of a mini election.
On Monday, we shared our learning from our assembly, and it was great to see everyone contribute lots of great learning confidently. We shared presentations, poems, artwork and songs.
Also, this week we have been continuing to develop our information report writing skills. We took notes beforehand and have been using our skimming and scanning techniques to do this.
In Numeracy, we have been applying our skills to adding decimal numbers within the context of money. We have been using our mental maths skills to calculate change.
In Art, we have created beautiful paintings of Winter robins. These will go on display in our school hall for everyone to see.
We have developed our fitness skills further in P.E in circuits and we have been recording our scores to see if we can set targets to improve.
Today, we met in our pupil committees again for the second time this term. We are working hard to achieve our set goals.
