Friday 21st November

On Monday we had a visit from MSP for NE Fife, Willie Rennie. He discussed his role in the local area and we asked him lots of questions, including housing issues in Newport to climate change.

This week we have been preparing for our class assembly. We will share our learning from our Diversity topic. We have been learning about stereotypes in our topic in relation to gender and had lots of good discussions around this. We created pointillism pieces of art for our topic and words linked to diversity.

We have continued to develop our skills in writing information reports and taking notes from a range of texts in preparation for our writing. We are developing skills in skimming and scanning of a text.

In Numeracy, we have been learning how to read numbers on a decimal scale to 3 decimal places. We have also been learning to add and subtract decimal numbers. We have been continuing to work on visualisation skills in problem solving with nets of a cube. We are showing good perseverance skills.

We have enjoyed our last rugby session for this term, and we have also developed our fitness and stamina further in circuits. We explored different types of feelings in Health and Wellbeing and how to manage these feelings.

Today, we met in our pupil committees again for the first time this term.
